Sinharaja is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the last remaining rainforests in Sri Lanka. While it’s not primarily known for safaris like other parks, it offers unique opportunities to explore rich biodiversity, spot endemic bird species, and witness the wonders of the tropical rainforest.

Yala is one of the most famous safari destinations in Sri Lanka, renowned for its high density of leopards. Visitors can also encounter elephants, sloth bears, deer, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species while exploring the park’s diverse habitats.

Wasgamuwa is a lesser-known gem, offering a peaceful and off-the-beaten-path safari experience. The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, leopards, sloth bears, deer, and birds, set against the backdrop of scenic landscapes and ancient ruins.

Minneriya is famous for the gathering of elephants known as “The Gathering,” where hundreds of elephants congregate around the Minneriya Tank during the dry season. Visitors can witness this spectacular natural phenomenon and also spot other wildlife such as deer, crocodiles, and birds.

Kumana, also known as Yala East, is renowned for its diverse birdlife and as a sanctuary for migratory birds. In addition to birdwatching, visitors can also encounter elephants, leopards, deer, and other wildlife while exploring the park’s scenic landscapes and coastal lagoons.
